U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) released guidance on expedited employment authorization document (EAD) renewal applications for healthcare workers.  Per the new guidance, if you are a healthcare worker who has a pending EAD renewal application (Form I-765), and whose EAD expires within 30 days or less or has already expired, you can request expedited processing of your EAD application by calling the USCIS Contact Center.

To determine whether you are a qualifying healthcare worker, see the DHS advisory memorandum (“Healthcare / Public Health” section, pages 7-9) (PDF).  When making a request for expedited processing, you must be prepared to provide sufficient evidence of your profession or current employment as a healthcare worker in order for USCIS to accommodate your request.
